Hello families!

We are excited to share an update about our new Creative Beginnings centre opening at the end of this year at 2415 University Avenue East in Waterloo.

We know many of you are already on our centre waitlists and have been patiently waiting for more information about University Avenue. Your continued interest and support mean so much to us, and we want to make sure you are included in this update.

The Region of Waterloo has confirmed that the waitlist for this centre will open:

Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 7:00 a.m. through OneList (the Region’s online childcare application system): Apply on OneList – Waterloo Region. regionofwaterloo.onehsn.com

Important details from the Region of Waterloo & OneHSN (OneList)

Equal timestamp window: Applications submitted between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on September 24 will all receive the same timestamp, regardless of when during that window they are entered. There is no advantage to applying at 7:01 a.m. versus 4:58 p.m.
After 5:00 p.m.: Applications will be timestamped in the usual way (based on the time they are submitted).
High traffic expected: OneList may run more slowly than usual due to high demand. OneHSN will actively monitor the site to ensure applications are received.
Technical help: If you encounter issues while applying, please contact OneHSN Support at support@OneHSN.com (M–F, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. ET). The child care operator and the Region are not able to assist with technical problems or advise on your place on the waitlist. regionofwaterloo.onehsn.com

What happens next

The Region will make necessary system adjustments the following day and confirm with us when placements can begin. As always, we will offer spaces according to our waitlist policy and priorities.

Because construction is still underway, we will not begin confirming spaces with families until the end of November. We are also unable to offer tours at this time; however, we are planning to host an open house later this fall at our Elmira location. More information about this event will be shared with everyone on the waitlist.

If you are interested in transferring to the University Avenue location, please email us at info@creativebeginningselac.ca so we can note your interest while we finalize our internal transfer approach.

Programs

Infant

Ratio: 3-1 (Child to Educator)
Available for children from the ages of birth to 18 months. This program is designed to provide a great learning environment for the younger children.
Toddler

Ratio: 5-1 (Child to Educator)
Available for children ages of 18 to 30 months. Our toddler program provides children with a safe environment to try new activities and test their creativity.
Preschool

Ratio: 8-1 (Child to Educator)
Available for children ages of 30 months to 5 years. The Preschool program is designed to encourage children to try new activities and prepare for school.

Program Fees

Daily Programs:

$79.20 per day (Previous full base fees), $37.42 per day (Current base with CWELCC reduction).
$61.07 per day (Previous full base fees), $28.86 per day (Current base with CWELCC reduction).
$55.23 per day (Previous full base fees), $26.10 per day (Current base with CWELCC reduction).

Nutrition

Creative Beginnings Early Learning and Care uses BluePrint Nutrition, a professional nutritionist to guide us in our menu planning to ensure nutritional items are high quality.
